Autodesk's Moldflow 2024 and Moldflow 2025 releases introduce several significant updates, enhancing both usability and computational efficiency for plastic injection molding simulation.


Moldflow 2024 Highlights:

  1. Material Data Management: The material database has been separated from the core software, allowing for easier, more frequent updates without needing a full software upgrade. This provides users with up-to-date material testing data for more accurate simulations.
  2. UI and Solver Enhancements: The Dual Domain warpage prediction has been improved for better accuracy, especially in edge elements. 3D simulations now better capture negative sink marks and warpage scenarios. The Molding Window Analysis includes updated industry-standard values, improving default processing parameters.
  3. STAMP Model in Insight: The new Shrinkage Test Adjusted Mechanical Properties (STAMP) model enhances the prediction of warpage and residual stress in thermoplastics using measured material shrinkage data​

Moldflow 2025 Highlights:

  1. Faster 3D Analyses: A major focus is on reducing solution times through better multithreading and code efficiency. These improvements are most impactful in advanced molding types like core-shift, gas-assisted injection, and compression molding​.
  2. Material Database Updates: The 2025 version adds environmental filters (e.g., biodegradable, recycled materials) to the material database, aiding in eco-friendly material selection. Over 13,300 thermoplastic materials are now supported​
  3. Enhanced Flow and Warpage Accuracy: Improvements in Dual Domain and 3D flow models offer more accurate temperature and flow rate predictions, reducing discrepancies in temperature drops during simulations​
     

These updates make Moldflow 2024 and 2025 more accurate, user-friendly, and faster, helping engineers improve injection molding simulations for various manufacturing applications.
